Jenna turns #5--- "she is so big now" --- so she thinks

Jenna finally celebrated her #5 birthday. Jenna has a birthday later in the year so it seems like it takes a long time until her birthday. We started the morning with her choice of chocolate muffins. So we put candles in her muffin to blow out. We opened some presents early that morning to have her movie to watch if needed for her party.

Later that afternoon following school we had 10 girls and 1 boy over for a TINKERBELL party. Jenna got an awesome turn out of friends. She was also treated with Grandma Andy and Aunt Dea to help mom with all the party. (THANKS LADIES)

This was the party adgena --- when the kids arrived they got fairy dust (glitter) sprinkled on their cheeks and then they colored Tinkerbell pictures while waiting for the kids to come.

Below are pictures from the fun, busy and exciting day.

Grandma Andy singing songs with them while I got the pin the star on the wand for Tinkerbell.

** After the tinkerbell pin the star on the wand game we did a fairy craft with a clothes pin. This was tricky because we painted with 11 children (CRAZY)

After the craft we opened presents --- Jenna got spoiled rotten and was very happy about her presents.

After the presents we served cupcakes and ice cream.

** Then for the finally part of the party Jenna gave each of the kids a set of Tinkerbell wings and a Pixy stick made into a Star wand. It was so much fun and the kids were so happy. I heard from a couple moms that their kids talked about it and wore the wings for a couple days. This is best result of the party, knowing they had fun.

Below are pictures of Jenna with her Tinkerbell cake.

Later after the crazy party we traveled to Provo to have a birthday dinner with Uncle Jamie/Aunt Dea & Grandma Andy. We went to the Pizza factory and she got SPOILED AGAIN!!! We ordered some awesome breadstickes and they created a pizza in the shape of the #5. She smiled so big and people loved her glittery cheeks. While at the pizza factory we gave Jenna her surprise present for her birthday. (We purchased Disney on Ice with the Princesses tickets for that Saturday).

Playing in the leaves at Aunt Dea & Uncle Jamie's

The 1st part of November Brian's siblings came in town so we visited at Dea a couple of times. Dea & Jamie have a HUGE walnut tree in the front yard and it gives them plenty of leaves and walnuts. So I couldn't resist putting the kids in the leaves for a picture.

Jenna eye dr. appointment

Jenna went to the dr. for her 5 year old check up and we discovered that she couldn't read the eye charts. She had 20/50 & 20/70 vision in her eyes. So we schedule an appointment with an eye doctor. Below are the pictures of her at the eye doctor.

Jenna was playing pirate to see how much she could see.

After her eye exam they put drops in her eyes to help her eyes dialate. They gave her glasses to wear for 45 minutes until they checked her. So we went outside the doctors office and played in the leaves and got some icecream.

THE FINAL results of her eye exam ---- Jenna is near sided and she will need to have glasses when she starts kindergarten. The doctor didn't want to put her in glass because she doesn't need to see far away or read yet. Plus her eyes could change a little too. So Jenna has inherited her Daddy eyes and some of the Mom side too. (Found out that my (Colleen) sister had glasses at 5 years, my nefews have had glasses early too). Jenna was really brave and happy for the eye appointment. GOOD JOB!!!

Halloween activities and the BIG DAY!!!

Our small family had a great week of Halloween activities. Jenna had a two of her good friends over a couple times this week to play and do Halloween stuff. Jenna also had some fun with her hair do's this week. Below are pictures of our fun, long, enjoyable, happy and sugar high week.

On Tuesday I was getting Jenna ready for preschool and I dressed her in a orange halloween feeling shirt. So I decided to have some fun with her hair.

Jenna had fun at preschool scaring her friends and teachers. She loved it and had to keep the spiders in until Brian could see them.

This year Jenna decided to be Princess Belle from the Beauty & the Beast. Jenna was Belle two Halloween's ago but she still had a love for her. So below are pictures of her fun Belle hair do that I had to do 3 times during the week. Her are different views of the "DO."

Jenna with her preschool classmates and teacher for their Halloween activity day. This year was fun because now child was the same character.

All the little girls in their costumes

We had a day with Jenna and her two good friends. I decided to be a fun Mom and do some Halloween activities with them. Below are pictures of No Bake Spider Cookies, Handprint spider art and a witch they made out of different shapes. The girls loved it but it reminded me of how much I loved preschool teaching. Below are the pictures.

A tradition in Mona is the Halloween carnival at the Elementary school. This is our 2 year going and Jenna loves it every time. This year James went too but wasn't sure about his Halloween costume and didn't know about the other dress up too. Below is a picture of Jenna doing a Pumpkin bean bag toss. We had alot of fun but ready to go to bed that night. We love our small town.

Perfect way to begin the Halloween Day --- with a Halloween breakfast. I made Pumpkin Pancakes, Black Spider Hashbrowns, Googlie Eyed Eggs, Blook juice for the drink and the catsup was some extra added blood for the spiders. Jenna wasn't too sure when I called her over to the table. Brian also had fun with the Halloween thing--- that is after he smiled when he saw was I was doing. Thanks for your help Brian. Here is a picture of Jenna's plate.

Saturday afternoon-ish we Jenna friend come over with her brother and sister. We decided to paint pumpkins instead of carving --- smart thing on my end because I think I would have been carving at least 3 of the 4 by myself. The painting turned out good and they loved it. Below are pictures of Jenna and her friends. Also James coloring while they painted.

Halloween night came really quick!!! We got the two kids dressed in their costumes and they were loving it. We did the TRUNK OR TREATING, went to a couple friends homes and then home for a quick rest. Then later that night we got invited to a neighborhood Halloween party. It was a long fun night. Below are pictures of the kids in their costumes.

Jenna as Belle and James as Yoda from Star Wars

James as our Yoda --- Thanks John & Amber for the costume.

James got a tool set bench from Uncle Jonathan & Marie -- he and Jenna have been playing with it ALL day long. Thanks Jonathan & Marie. ;)

Jenna after we sorted all the candy between her and James. We decided to combined=\it so they can share plus Jenna will not try and eat all the candy this week.
James is almost 14 months and not wanting to practice the walking thing faithfully. He is getting around faster on this knee so no need for the leg standing thing. Below is a fun picture of him eating peanut butter.

The Big Red Barn Field trip for Jenna

Jenna was so excited to go to the Big Red Barn this year. She remembers going last year and having so much fun. I told her that James and I were going to come with her and she was okay with this but she really really wanted her Dad to come too. She asked him a couple times but he couldn't do it because of this crazy schedule of work. But I was happy to go as her Mom. James feel asleep on the ride to the barn but I woke him up so he could enjoy the hay ride. Below are pictures of Jenna at the Big Red Barn.

Jenna looking out the side of the hay wagon.

Jenna learned about apples and the best time to pick them. These are the Fiji apples and she learned that they are the last apple picked from the barn. It is also the best to pick apples in afternoon because they the frost or doo is off the apple and they taste crunchier.

Jenna has taken a bite out of her apple.

James trying to figure out what we are doing sitting on hay and riding behind a tractor. He loved it and was so good!!! He is growing up so fast!

Jenna out with her teacher and friends finding the perfect pumpkin.

Jenna found her pumpkin and it was just the right size.

Jenna behind the ghost sign at the patch ---- BOO!!
